re-think parking areas

Parade Square Improvements:
1. As owners of 9 Parade Square Road 'Cavendish House" directly adjacent (south border of the project is common to our pptys north border.) the proposed improvement to the Parade Square we would be major stakeholders in this project.
2. I agree with the other commenter 'lumpfish' I too, applaud any improvements "I am in favour of any project that will enhance the beauty of the village, and make our village a better place to live."
3. ISSUE #1The 3 new parking spaces (blue shade) located centre/lower of coloured drawing immediately cut of my existing driveway (not shown on plan). This driveway has been existence since the original home was built in 1928 and should be recognized as such and appropriate changes to the parking spaces to support safe ingress and egress. I see the 'net loss of 1 new parking space' to accommodate Cavendish House driveway
4. ISSUE #2 To the east of my driveway (not shown on plans) begins my north rock wall. (shown on the plan as 2 black parallel black lines) and not shown on the plan are my 2 man-gates to enter and exit through the rock wall. As above "... should be recognized as such and appropriate changes to the bushes and hardscaping to support safe ingress and egress through my 2 gates located along the rock wall.
5. ISSUE #3. The numbers being used to show gain or loss in parking spaces is misleading at best.
a. Parking by red cross wharf (top left corner of plan in orange shade) This grassy area has traditionally been used as parking. Paving it now, does not mean 10 new spots magically drop out of thin air. With well defined parking spaces, at best you have a net gain of maybe '3 more parking spaces' as I have seen at least 7 cars parked when illegally every busy summer.
b. 5 new parking spaces on South street (top right in blue shading). These are not new parking spaces. The olny difference is thse spaces will now be paved. 5 cars are already allowed/able to park along that portion of South Street. ''No gain' in new parking spaces
c. Existing parking spaces in front of Lido Pool. There is a loss of 3 parking spaces with the inclusion of the view platform. A net 'loss of 3 parking spaces'.
Summary: Considering the loss of an estimated 15 parking spots in the roadway in front of the Band Stand (because of closure) and by a more conservative count of actual newly created parking spots (5 new stops) the tally says we are actually have a NET LOSS of 10 parking spaces with this plan.
6. One unexplored parking avenue is the portion of Central Street ending at South Street. If that portion of Central Street (widest street in Chester by 66") on either the Captain's House could be paved and parking spaces designated, we may actually get back our net loss to parking and at least break even on parking spots.
I have drawn some of this issues on the coloured plan and will happily sit down with anyone at planning to review my findings and assist in appropriate changes and improvement if they can be found. Tim Harris 902.275.7611

This comment was posted (buried) elsewhere under 'comments' 2 months and I do not think it has been read as I have not received any confirmation response from anyone. The organizers at the public meeting last Monday night (April 19 2021) repeatedly asked for more input. Well it would seem 9 people have commented and no acknowledgement has been given that we as stakeholders are being heard. It goes hand in hand that 'rigorous public consultation, and transparency', should include acknowledgement of tax payers input on this site.
