Our Municipality of Chester is developing its first Arts & Culture Strategy. The MOC recognizes the importance of the Arts & Culture sector to our residents, visitors, our economy, and future growth. This strategy will guide how our Municipality engages, supports, and grows our Arts & Culture Sector.

Phases of strategy development:

3: In-person and virtual engagement sessions
4: Analysis and draft strategy

The expected deadline for the completed strategy is the end of 2024.

    Currently, we are focusing on reaching out to and hearing from residents, businesses, and local groups.

    The first stage is our online public survey. The feedback gathered will contribute to shaping the future supports for Arts and Culture in the Municipality of Chester, ensuring that it remains a vibrant and integral part of our community identity.     The second stage will be our in-person engagement sessions held at various locations around our Municipality the week of June 10. We will also be scheduling a virtual session.

    In-Person Public Engagement Sessions:
    June 10: Wasoqopa'q First Nation Gold River Community Centre
    June 11: Chester District Elementary School
    June 12: Aspotogan Consolidated Elementary School
    June 13: New Ross Family Resource Centre

    Afternoon Sessions: 3pm-5pm
    Evening Sessions: 6pm-8pm
