Municipal Council - 2nd Reading of new MPS and LUB

At a regularly scheduled Council meeting, Council gave 2nd and Final Reading to the new Municipal Planning Strategy and Land Use By-law.

Public Hearing

The Public Hearing is an opportunity for members of the public to address Council and speak for or against the new planning documents. The Public Hearing is being held at Forest Heights Community School and will begin at 7:00 p.m. Council may vote to adopt the new documents following the Public Hearing.

1st Reading of new Planning Documents

Council will consider the final draft of the new Planning Strategy and Land Use By-law. Council may set a date for the Public Hearing, where a final vote to adopt the documents will take place.

Council & Citizens Planning Advisory Committee - Joint Session

This meeting, scheduled for October 7th, 2019, beginning at 6:30 p.m. in Municipal Council Chambers is an opportunity for staff to present the Final Draft Municipal Planning Strategy and Land Use By-law to both the Citizen's Planning Advisory Committee (CPAC) and Council. The presentation will focus on changes to the documents since the last joint sessions were held in 2018 (Sept. 17th & Oct. 1st). If satisfied with the draft documents CPAC may provide a positive recommendation that Council adopt the draft documents.

If a positive recommendation is made by CPAC, the draft documents will be brought to an upcoming Council meeting to receive 1st reading and begin the formal adoption process.

Council & Citizens Planning Advisory Committee - Joint Workshop

This meeting is scheduled for September 17th, 2018, beginning at 6:30 p.m. and will be held in Tuck's Hall, St Stephens Anglican Church, 54 Regent Street, Chester. The purpose of this workshop is to allow committee members and Councillors to discuss any outstanding aspects of the Draft Documents that require direction.

Citizens Planning Advisory Committee Meeting

This meeting is scheduled for September 10th, 2018 at 6:30 p.m. in Municipal Council Chambers at 151 King Street, Chester. The purpose of this meeting is to provide an update to the committee on recent discussions with Council and on the results of the Public Engagement meetings held in April and May of 2018.

Review Third Round Public Engagement Report with Council (Part 2)

Following the regularly scheduled Council meeting, staff will finish the presentation of the Third Round Engagement Report. The presentation will cover the remaining topics that were not discussed at the workshop held on July 25th.

Review Third Round Public Engagement Report with Council

Staff will present a report which summarizes comments and concerns expressed regarding the draft planning documents at the 14 Public Meetings held in April and May. Council will provide direction to staff as to what changes they would like made to the draft documents
